New Job - Community Manager at Challenge for Change

A Community Manager is required to join Challenge for Change Ltd – an innovative behaviour change consultancy that specialises in designing and implementing behaviour change programmes that get more people cycling.

This is a new, varied and exciting role that has two tiers: building and maintaining the global online Love to Ride community; and assisting the Projects Team in Bristol on the effective delivery of a range of behaviour change projects.

Roles and Responsibilities

The primary roles and responsibilities of the role are to:

• Create user growth and maintenance on the Love to Ride global community through:

o Owning and managing community conversations to ensure engagement is maximised across various social networking platforms

o Develop engaging, informative and fun written and graphic content, moderate daily posts, write editorial content using creative approach to design, develop and implement promotions and giveaways

o Provide daily ‘customer service’ through social media engagement as required

o Use creative ability to discover and implement new and fun ways to manage the global online community

• Provide support for the promotion of behaviour change projects to include:

o Managing the production of marketing materials, including posters, flyers, postcards and certificates. Writing and proofreading copy, liaising with designers and printers, finalising with client, arranging effective distribution

o Developing and executing e-campaigns, to include writing and programming e-communications, exporting and segmenting e-lists, managing subscriptions, responding to recipient queries and monitoring campaigns

o Coordinating project websites, to include creating and updating content and images, testing and managing throughout the project period, answering user queries

o Administering incentives and prizes, communicating with winners and mailing incentives and prizes at regular intervals throughout the projects.

• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with client teams

• Support the Operations team on quantitative and qualitative data research, including setting up online questionnaires, undertaking basic data analysis, pulling together data tables and writing commentary.

• Provide operational and administrative support for the Challenge for Change team in the areas of report preparation, compiling generic content, proof-reading and distribution.

• Carry out any other duties defined by the Projects Team, which may from time to time be necessary to further the aims of Challenge for Change and the Love to Ride community.

Person Specification

You will be a bright, friendly and personally motivated individual, with an eye for detail and experience of handling a multitude of marketing tasks and social media platforms with confidence and at speed. You will be enthusiastic, highly organised and an efficient administrator, supporting the Projects Team with the delivery of a range of cycling initiatives. You will be committed to an approach of continuous improvement for Challenge for Change’s operation.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

• Educated to degree level
• Practical skills and experience in marketing
• A love for social media and good working knowledge of the online industry
• Experience in blogging and running large and growing social media communities
• Creative and dynamic in approach to social media campaigns
• Experience in content creation and delivery
• A sense of fun and humour and a desire to be part of a creative and exciting team
• High level interpersonal and communication skills
• Solid administration skills
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
• Ability to work on multiple projects at any one time
• Excellent time management skills
• Takes responsibility for own actions and the outcomes that result
• Great team worker, with ability to work on own initiative
• Good numeracy with experience of working with spreadsheets, developing bar/pie charts

Bristol City Centre

Remuneration

£19,000 – £22,000 pa pro rata – potential for review for exceptional candidates

Contract

Full time (37.5 hours) for 9 months initially, potential to extend this for the right candidate.
